It finally hit Kakeru. What was Keiko doing with
Chinen-Kun?! Why wasn't she back at camp? Why wasn't HE back at camp? The
started getting closer to the camp. Right when they got the the tents, Otaru
stepped forward.
"AAggh!!" Otaru gagged, as he stepped in what
appeared to be honey. He lifted up his
shoe which pulled a string. More honey fell down on top of
him and on top of Keiko. Kakeru
gasped. It wasn't supposed to happen NOW! He ran into the
forest. He had to hurry or it
would be ruined!
"Why is there honey on the ground?" Otaru asked.
"Kakeru!" Keiko exclaimed angrily. Then they
both heard something that made them
shiver. A growl. A bunch of boys came out of their tents,
to see a large bear come near the
two. Kakeru sat and watched.
"Agh!!" Keiko screamed. There was super glue in
the honey!! --Ikuno
The bear approached...slowly...slowly...
Kakeru frowned 'why did keiko have to get in there?'.
A bunch of students were arguing about what to do.
Jiro frowned, 'So Kakeru was up to something, and he targeted
one of my men!!' (Jiro
baby, you need help.) 'oh yeah, and Fujishige...'.
Obari aproached the bear and patted it on the head.
Remembering that all the bears on
the camp area are tame.
Keiko and Otaru relaxed.
Keiko looked over at Otaru "You alright? I'm guessing
Kakeru is behind this"
"Yeah, Arigato Sempai, I'm just a little shook
up."
"You're not the only one..." Keiko raised her
voice. "hey! can someone get us un-stuck??"
Time passed, the got un-stuck.
Otaru made a face. "I'm going to go change my clothes
and then get to bed, I'm not to
fond of the whole covered-in-honey thing"
Keiko nodded. "Me too, I'll see you in the morning
Otaru."
Kakeru frowned, Obari completely wrecked this one...but
with a few modifications....it could
still work...But until then...back to camp!
However, Naoki was right there, watching the whole
thing...
Keiko decided to wait until later to bathe off,
considering she would have to do so in the lake, and didn't want to chance
Otaru being there too and seeing her(awkward moments, oo!!!), so she went to
her tent. Kakeru was laying on his sleeping bag, his hands behind his head,
thinking. Keiko grew angry and walked up to him. She kicked him slightly in the
stomach, but he didn't even flinch. "YOU IDIOT!!!" She yelled.
"Calm down. Remember Anji's rules? No fighting."
He didn't even look at her, his eyes were glued to the ceiling. Keiko looked
shocked.
"I could've been killed!!!" Keiko exclaimed.
"Why on earth did you do that?!"
"Who says I did?" Kakeru still didn't look at her.
'Why did I do it?' He thought.
"Oh, come on! Don't try to defend yourself. Everyone
knows you did it! And this time their not laughing!" Keiko kicked him
again, this time as hard as she could. He let out an 'oof!',
and grabbed his stomach, he curled up into a ball.
"Do you really hate me that much, to want to KILL me?!"
"I don't hate you." Kakeru choked out. "You
weren't even supposed to be there."
She opened her mouth. "But why??" Kakeru stood
up.
"I'm guessing you have to change." He looked at
her honey covered clothes. He walked outside.
"Hey!" She followed him. "I'm not done
yet!"
"I am." He then walked off.
'Why does he have to be so rude?!' Keiko thought. She
'hmph'ed, and walked back inside, to gather her bath stuff. --Ikuno
Otaru still felt like he was covered in honey. Even after
bathing and changing. He saw Kakeru walking around. It was the first time he
wanted to punch someone, but he knew his morals wouldn't allow it. Who could
pull such a cruel trick?! How could they live with themselves?? He knew he was
jealous of Kakeru for stealing his best friend, but now it led to anger.
"Did you do it?" Otaru asked Kakeru.
"What?" Kakeru blinked.
"Did you do it." He repeated, a solemn look on
his face.
"..Yes.." Kakeru admitted.
'Where do you get off trying to hurt people? Where do you
get off trying to hurt Sempai?'
He realized in his thoughts, that he was more afraid for
Kei than himself. He wanted to say those words, but all he could get out was,
"Why?"
"It was a joke!" Kakeru laughed nervously. He
didn't want to make it worse.
"A JOKE?!" Otaru looked in disbelief. "Some
joke!"
"I already got an earful from Fujishige, so I don't
need any more from you." Kakeru said coldly. Why did he do something so
stupid? How could he do that? How could he do it to her? He walked off into the
dark woods, leaving Otaru speechless. --Ikuno
Keiko got changed and grabbed her honey-covered clothes
and a towel before quietly
slipped out of her tent, heading down to the lake, after 6
trips over tree roots, she got
there, and slipped behind some trees after looking around,
just incase someone's around.
"Why can't they have a bathhouse or something??"
She sighed, and pulled off the clothes
she just put on, securing them under a rock and slipped a
towel around her so she wouldn't
feel so immodest. She grabbed the Honey-clothes and
aproached the lake.
Keiko shivered as a cold breeze went past, and kneeled
down, muttering about how kakeru
was going to die a long and painful death, and began
washing her clothes, nothing eventful
happened...
Taking off her glasses and the towel, she quickly got into
the water and took her hair down,
letting it flow around her, she scrubbed the honey off her
and washed it out of her hair --LaNnY
Keiko knew she probably should have waited, but no Anji
here to scold her, and no onewould know, right? Besides, she was anxious to get
that goo out of her hair. After she was reasonably clean, she decided to wade a
bit. She closed her eyes and let her body float in the cool lake.
Otaru could shake the icky feeling of being covered with
that sticky honey, so he decided to take another bath. As he walked to the
dock, he took off his shirt(ooo!!!), but realized there were some clothes on
the ground. He looked in the cold waters, and saw a still body.
'What if they're drowning?' he thought. He got a closer
look, and realized it was a girl! 'What is she doing here?' He thought she
must've been in trouble, so he jumped in without hesitation.
As Otaru swam closer, the girl opened her eyes. Keiko
heard the sound of swimming coming her way! She would've been caught for sure!!
Otaru gaped as he realized the girl was only wearing a towel! He turned bright
red and backed off. She screamed. Keiko realized it was Otaru! Hopefully he
wouldn't realize it was her, but wait. She wasn't wearing hardly anything! She
quickly covered herself with her hands and screamed again, kicking water at
him.
"What do you think you're doing?!" She yelled,
in a more feminine voice, because Otaru knew her real one. She blushed furiously,
and he closed his eyes.
"I-I'm s-sorry!" He studdered. He'd never been
this close to a girl that was so.. Declothed.
"You should be!!" She cried.
"Hey wait!" Otaru gasped. "I saw you at the
Academy! You were the one in that Pheonix School uniform!"
"So what if I was?! Would you please turn
around?!" Keiko's veins were popping out, and she was still blushing. She
then realized he didn't have a shirt on, and blushed even more. "What, did
you come out here to SPY on me?!" She wondered if Otaru would do such a
thing. He was about as red as humanly possible, and he turned around.
"I-I thought y-y-you w-were d-drowning.." He
replied. Keiko held back a smile in this tense moment. She'd never heard Otaru
studder that bad. He must have been really imbarrassed.
Meanwhile, Naoki had followed Keiko to the lake, and
informed Staci-Chan what was going on. 'What am I gonna do now?' She thought.
This was some predicament!!
Otaru calmed down, but kept blushing every time he
realized what was going on.
"W-what're you doing here?" He asked.
"I, um.." Keiko drew a blank. She sure was in a
fix now! "Well, I'm camping with my friends on the other side of the lake,
and I thought I'd take a swim.."
"Oh.." Otaru couldn't shake the butterflies in
his stomach. He was always uneasy with girls, but now he was in a LAKE with
one!! "W-we haven't been formally introduced. I'm Chinen Otaru. I-I would
shake your hand, but, well.."
"Yeah, that wouldn't be a good idea.." Keiko
laughed nervously.
"Your turn." He said.
"Hmm?" Keiko blinked.
"What's your name?" Otaru asked. Keiko
sweatdropped. What was she supposed to say?! Not even Anji could bail her out
of this one! Wait! If she used her real name..
"Umm, I'm Amuro Keik--" She just realized what
THAT would acomplish.
"Really?!" He wished he could turn around and
see her.
"Uhh, yeah.." She said. 'Great job, genious!!'
She thought.
"Umm, can I turn around now?" Otaru asked,
thought he wasn't sure he was ready to.
"No!!" She said quickly. Otaru sweatdropped.
"Sorry." He started blushing again.
"It's just that, I don't have any clothes!"
Keiko said. 'Great, tell him THAT.' She thought, as she hit herself on the
head. Otaru was turning bright red all over again.
"I mean, not WITH me." She said quickly.
"Oh. Well, I'll be right back." Otaru was
curious about this girl. He didn't care about his shyness right now, he had
questions to ask. Ones that needed to be answered.
Keiko blinked as she watched him swim to the docks and
pick up something. He swam back and handed it to her, with one of his hands
over his eyes. It was his jacket. For some reason, his gesture made Keiko
blush. "Thanks." She said, and she slipped it on.
"You know Sempai, right?" He said, turning
around. Now that she was fully(or more than before atleast) clothed, he looked
at her face. He blushed, not because he was uncomfortable, but because he
realized how pretty she was. Keiko decided to play dumb.
"Who?" She asked.
"Oh," He playfully hit himself on the head.
"Fujishige Kei."
"Oh, yes! We're old friends." She smiled. Boy,
did she have a great smile, Otaru thought.
He quickly realized what he was thinking and blushed more.
"You okay?" She asked.
"I'm fine." Otaru blushed some more. Keiko
smiled, then she saw movement in the corner of her eye. The dock was at Otaru's
back, so he didn't notice the girl waving her arms, motioning for Keiko to come
to shore. Otaru followed Keiko's eyes and looked behind him.
"Who's that?" He asked. As they swam to shore,
Naoki panicked. 'What am I gonna do?!'
She thought. She picked up Keiko's glasses so Otaru wouldn't notice.
"Hi Naoki-Chan!" Keiko said, as she got to the
dock.
"Oh, hi!" Naoki was confused, but decided to
play along. She wasn't sure what to call Keiko. "How are you?"
"I'm fine." She smiled nervously. "I just
met this boy, he says he knows Kei-Kun."
"Hi, Naoki-San." Otaru blushed.
"Hi Otaru-Kun!" She smiled. "I see you've
met Keiko-Chan!" She tried not to notice the fact Otaru was shirtless, but
she ended up blushing slightly.
"Well, I'll see you back at the camp!" Keiko
said.
"Hmm?" Naoki cocked her head. Keiko stared at
her. "Oh! Yes! Back at, the camp! Our camp! Yes!" Naoki quickly ran
off, but then hid in some bushes to spy on them.
"She's a little.." Otaru started.
"I know." Keiko sighed.
Keiko hopped up onto the dock, and Otaru blushed furiously
at her bare legs, only covered by his over-sized jacket. He joined her, but
some distance away from her.
Meanwhile, Kakeru was walking by himself, thinking.
'Should I say I'm sorry? Will it help?'
He scolded himself. "You stupid idiot. Why did you go
ahead with it? Did you actually think she would be okay? You thought she'd say
something like 'Funny trick! Oh, I don't care if you covered me in molasses and
shoved me towards a hungry animal, it was pure genius!', didn't you?"
She stood up, and picked up her clothes. "Well, I'll
be seeing you," She smiled.
"Wait." He said, as he stood up.
"Hmm?" She said, and she looked back at him,
still walking.
"Watch out!" He warned, as she tripped and fell
flat on her face. He laughed. "You and Sempai do have alot in common!
You're both a little uncoordinated." He said.
"Oh, you're so funny." She said sarcastically.
"Now be a gentleman and help me up!"
"Oh, yeah." He blushed, and reached down to pull
her up. She smirked, "Now who's uncoordinated?" She said, then
quickly grabbed his arm and yanked him down. It would have been funny, if he
hadn't landed on top of her. "Oww!!" He yelped.
"Umm, sorry." He blushed furiously as he got up.
"Why? I was the one that pulled you down." She
looked at him.
"I know, but.. Umm.." He got all red again. He
really was quite strange around girls! Otaru pulled Keiko up, but when he did,
he pulled her a bt too close. They stood eye to eye, and their noses touched.
And who did come in right in time to see this but Kakeru!! --Ikuno
Kakeru paused, tears brimming his eyes 'Keiko..and..Otaru??? They're so
close...and...is..Keiko even wearing anything???' Kakeru blushed deep red,
((Mixed emotions, embarressment, sadness, and anger)) and punched a tree next
to him while letting out a loud sort of yell, a pointless one you know? one you
yell when you need to vent a little. --LaNnY
Otaru was the first to back off, but then tripped
himself(darned uneven dock, *giggles*).
He stood up extremely fast, now INCREDIBLY red in the face
because of his blushing.
"I better go, it's late." He said.
Without even thinking, Keiko said, "You want your
Jacket back??" She mentally slapped herself in the head. 'STUPID!' She
thought.
"U-umm, n-no.." He stammered. He ran off.
"When did he get so timid?" She giggled. After
she was dressed, she threw his jacket over her shouler. Just thinking of how
close they are made her stomach turn. She'd never felt THAT way about Otaru,
before. She felt almost dizzy, and she didn't know why. When she got to her
tent, she saw Kakeru laying in his sleeping bag, his face to the wall.
"Have a good time with Chinen-Kun?" He said, in a low tone.
"What?!" That feeling was completely replaced
with anger. "You were spying on me?!"
He didn't answer.
"Hey! I asked you a question!" She said. --Ikuno
Back in the tent, oblivious to all the romantic goings on
the outside, Jiro was holding a war
council.
Okay, now that they'd lost one of their men, it was a
pretty pathetic little war councel, but
never the less...
"One of our own has been taken down." Jiro told
his two compainions solemly. Of course, if he had seen what 'one of his own'
was doing right at that moment, he may not have taken a very different view on
things...
His audience, seriously begining to question their friend's
sanity, looked wildly around for
an exit.
"But the culprit may not have finished!" Jiro
went on, "We must stay PREPARED!" He shouted the last word and his
friends jumped.
"Um... it's getting kind of late..." One
ventured bravely, "Maybe I should head back to my own tent now..."
"Are you derserting?" Jiro cried, eyes fairly
popping out of his head, "Do you know what we do DO to those who
DESERT?"
The boy murmered apologies, as the one next to him began
to hyperventilate nervously.
Unbeknownst to them, a redheaded girl watched the whole
episode, seized by silent giggles.
It occured to Aika that while they were in their Napoleon
modes, Staci and Jiro would make a good couple. --Harkly
Anji was Snoring, alot, really loud too, in the amuro's
dorm room, it was a mess, since Anji got sloppy. Anji was having a bad dream,
about kakeru hitting on keiko, and then everyone found out Keiko was a girl,
and then they got kicked out of TUA, And disowned by their parents. --LaNnY
Anji tossed and turned, and finally sat up in a cold
sweat. He knew something had to be wrong. He couldn't trust Keiko, and he
DEFINATELY couldn't trust Shiranui, not after reading that note. He knew
somehow Keiko was bound to get herself in trouble, and he also knew there was
nothing he could do about it. If only he could get there to check up on her. It
was only a 2 hour drive, and he didn't have any matches tommorow, so he
decided. He was going up to Mt. Fuji and make sure everything was okay, and
also make sure Kakeru wasn't making passes at his sister. --Ikuno
The morning was heralded by what what seemed to be a
chorus of thousands of loud obnoixious songbirds. Songbirds with angry scowls
on their faces, pale skin and dark hair. They were shaking her and telling her
to make up.
Keiko blinked and reached for her glasses next to her
sleeping bag and put them on. Her vision cleared and she saw who it was who had
woken her up.
"What time is it?" she asked Kakeru, alittle
uncertainly. They had stayed up arguing for the good part of the night. About
his so called 'joke', about her 'lovers meeting' with Otaru (which she had
spent a good 20 minutes explaining but he still didn't seem to believe it was
only a coincidence.) and a dozen other pointless things that had come up out of
nowhere and where now long forgotten. What was his problem anyway? The
relationship she had with Otaru was none of his buisiness. Who was HE to make
assumptions when even SHE had no clue how she felt about Otaru.......But Kakeru
had just said something hadn't he? Keiko yawned, "Sorry could you repeat
that?"
Kakeru frowned, "Geez.....wake up Amuro. It's nearly
6:00am...."
"6:00! We don't have to be ready for breakfast until
7:00!" Keiko wrapped her arms around herself and glared at him.
"That's what they tell you but keep in mind it takes
around half an hour to fully wake up and change.......plus we both need to
change seperatly."
"Oh...." Keiko found herself unable to answer
back to kakeru this early in the morning and she guessed what he had said had
made SOME sense. "Can I go first?"
Kakeru nodded and left the tent. He needed the time to
collect his thoughts anyways.
Especially about last night with.....He actually did
believe it had been an accident. Chinen-kun would never be so forward with a
girl. Especially with one he just met....but the expressions on their faces.
THAT wasn't accidental. What could he do know? Keiko was so mad at him
and......
"Ah.....um.....Kakeru?" Keiko's voice forced him
to shove those thoughts away. He'd deal with them later. There was a definite
note of desperation in her voice.
"Yes?"
"Um.....I have a bit of a problem...."
"What is it?"
Inside the tent Keiko turned bright red. "Can you
lean in close to the tent flap....I don't want everyone else to hear...."
Kakeru leaned in closer and groaned softly "It's not
a GIRL problem is it? Because if it is i don't want ot know about it?"
"Well you see.........................
I-undid-my-bandage-last-night-before-I-went-to-sleep-
-and-now-I-can't-put-it-back-on....."
Kakeru turned blushed. "Y-y-you d-don't mean the
b-bandage around your......"
"'fraid so" Keiko's voice was nervous.
"Didn't you have to tie it yourself back at
school?"
"I'd wrap it and Anji would fix it with safety
pins.....C-can you help?" --Twylise
"NO WAY!" Kakeru was blushing profusely and was
creating quite a scene.
"But I can't reach!" Keiko whined.
"Why don't you get Otaru to do it for you."
Kakeru spoke in a tone so that only Keiko could hear.
"Kakeruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu~! Otaru still thinks that Kei
and Keiko are two tottally different peoples! You know that!!"
"No I don't." Stated Kakeru.
"Kakeru don't be so mean~~!" Keiko whined.
"Your as bad as my brother~!" " Theres no trust!"
"I'm gonna go get Otaru..."
Keiko popped her head out of the tent flap. Keiko's eyes
were wide. "Kakeru! Don't go get him! He won't be my freind any
more!" Keiko look like she was ready to cry.
"Fine then do it yourself." Kakeru ploped back
down near the tent. --Kayla
"KAKERU!!" She whined.
Kakeru blushed, then sweatdropped. "Fine..." He
couldn't believe he was agreeing to this!
Aika, who was ever the spy, went to check it out. She
sweatdropped as she heard,
"OWW!!!"
"Sorry!"
"Watch what your doing!"
"Umm..."
"Oww!! Stop poking me!!"
"I can't do this!"
"Not with you eyes closed you can't!"
Aika giggled silently. 'I wish I could see this right
now,' she thought.
"Poke me one more time with that safety pen and..
OWW!!"
"I'm sorry!"
"Open your eyes or I'm gonna be a PEN CUSHION!"
Aika giggled again. 'If only I had a camera..'
At breakfast, Otaru couldn't get Keiko out of his head.
When Kakeru and Kei sat down for breakfast, he took this time to ask Kei about
her. "Sempai!" He smiled cheerfully. "How are you today?"
"About as good as can be with holes in my back,"
Keiko glared at Kakeru. Otaru blinked. "Don't ask."
"I need to talk to you.." Otaru said.
"Okay! We haven't had a decent conversation in a
while! I mean, that didn't end with a giant bear." Keiko laughed. Kakeru
folded his arms. This ought to be interesting.
"Well, I ran into a friend of yours last night,"
Otaru told her. "Amuro Keiko."
"Oh really?" She said. "Why on earth could
she be here?"
"She and some of your friends are going camping on
the other side of the lake," Otaru said. He started to fidget. "I
think, maybe we should go see them. I mean, after all, they are your
friends."
Otaru was really using this as an excuse to go see Keiko
again.
"Oh, well, um," Keiko sweatdropped. "I
don't think-"
"Didn't you tell me they were leaving today,
Kei-Kun?" Kakeru asked. 'Play along!' He thought.
"Oh! Yeah, they said they were leaving today."
Keiko held up her index finger. "Oh well, guess we're going to have to see
them when we get back."
"Oh," Otaru looked dissapointed.
"Okay." He smiled.
"So how many showers did it take you to get all that
honey off?" Keiko laughed.
"Two. You?"
"Eh, about a million.." Keiko smiled.
Kakeru sighed, as he listened to the two talk about the
smallest things and such.
"Don't mind me." Kakeru said, as he played with
his eggs.
"We wont." Keiko said. She was obviously still
mad about the whole prank thing.
"Really, Shiranui-Kun, you should watch out!"
Otaru warned.
"I heard Jiro is going postal.." Keiko laughed.
"Worse. He's gone military." Otaru laughed.
"He actually has codenames for a-"
"Revealing our information to the ENEMY?!" Jiro
walked towards Otaru.
"No, just making conversation.." Otaru
sweatdropped.
"Sometimes I wonder about you, Chinen." Jiro
narrowed his eyes, then walked off.
"I'm sure more people wonder about HIM." Kakeru
smiled.
"Attention Everyone!" Obari yelled. "Right
after breakfast, pack your things for the hike!" --Ikuno
Keiko's ears perked up at Obari's announcement. The hike
was TODAY?!
Obviously, everyone present had been thinking the same
thing. Deep groans spread through the mesh of students, making it sound as if
it was the mountain itself that was suffering.
"I thought the hike was gonna be on Friday...?"
Otaru mumbled, and Kakeru grinned. Keiko noticed this, and raised an eyebrow at
him.
"I bet he's testing us..." Kakeru said, rising
from the outdoor table. Keiko and Otaru followed suit.
"I'll see you on the hike, Sempai!" Otaru
cheerfully said before heading off in the direction of this own tent. Keiko
nodded and followed closely behind Kakeru on the way to her own tent.
Keiko noticed Kakeru grin as he entered the tent,
automatically signalling that something was up. She shook her head and followed
carefully after him.
Keiko managed to pack most of her things in a short time,
making sure that her pack was
light before focusing her attention on Kakeru. His
maniacal grin would not wipe away as he
packed his bag, attempting to hide it as best as he could
from Keiko's vision. Her eyes,
however, managed to catch sight of one of the objects,
which appeared to be--
"Duct Tape...?" Keiko asked cautiously as Kakeru
threw the item into his bag. He looked at her, his grin spreading even wider
than before. Keiko backed against the side of the tent.
"We're gonna be passing the Pheonix School's camp on
the way up..." he murmured, "Might as well have some fun..."
Keiko's mouth hung open in astonishment. He was actually
planning to pull more pranks after the argument they'd had the night before...?
Then something struck her.
"THE PHEONIX SCHOOL IS CAMPING TOO??!"
Kakeru looked at her, as if she had said something
extremely stupid.
"Of course," He said matter-of-factly,
"This is what happens every year. That's why there's gonna be a dance on
the last day."
Keiko's jaw dropped to lengths thought impossible. "A
DANCE?!?!?!?"
Kakeru shook his head. "Nevermind. I'll explain later
what's gonna happen. I almost forgot you've never been to one of these
before."
He zipped up his pack and tightened it before throwing it
over his shoulder and stepping out of the tent, leaving Keiko dumbstruck.
Noticing that she hadn't even moved since he'd left the tent, he popped his
head back in, and pulled her out by the wrist. Keiko stumbled out, her pack
thrown over her shoulder at a funny angle, and her mouth still open. --TD
